Season 21 Premiere – Homer the Whopper

August 23, 2009

The season premiere episode for season 21 is entitled “Homer the Whopper.” Promotional artwork for this episode and details have just been released!

Plot

Comic Book Guy creates a new superhero called Everyman who takes powers from other superheros. Homer is cast as the lead in the film adaptation. To get Homer into shape, the movie studio hires a celebrity fitness trainer, Lyle McCarthy to help him. Homer gets into great shape but the film is canceled, and his life falls apart.

Production

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, writers of the film Superbad, asked the producers of The Simpsons if they could write an episode. They were invited to the writers room where they pitched several episode ideas. One was accepted, and they wrote an outline with the help of some feedback from the regular writers. The table read took place in August 2008, and production on the episode began soon after that. Rogen later said “we sat down for a read-through and three hours later I’m in a studio improv-ing with Homer Simpson, it was the single greatest day of my life.”

This episode will air on September 27th, 2009 as the start of Season 21.

The Simpsons go Curling

July 30, 2009
by

simpsonscanadaSeason 21 will be full of surprises, just to name one, Homer and Marge will enter the Winter Olympics in Canada. The storyline has just been revealed by writer, Rob LaZebnik. Lisa will be interested in collecting Olympic pins, and Homer and Marge will pay tribute to the popular Canadian sport. It is also known that Marge will be a natural curler, while Homer won’t be doing as well. This episode is also expected to help bring a bit more glory to this “almost forgotten” sport. Keep an eye out for the Simpsons traveling to Canada in season 21.

The Simpsons Anniversary Special coming soon

July 19, 2009
by

morgan A special part of the Simpsons celebration ‘The Best 20 Years Ever’ will include a new documentary entitled, “The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3D on Ice.” I have no idea why it’s called that becuase the special will not be in 3D nor on ice. The special is set to be released on January 14th 2010, which is also the anniversary of when ‘The Simpsons’ series began 20 years ago. Creator of the academy award winning films, “Super-Size Me” and “30 Days”, Morgan Spurlock, is set to direct the special.

“When they first called me about this, I thought it was a prank and I hung up,” said Spurlock. “And then my agent called back and said, ‘No, no, this is for real,’ at which point I fainted. Then when I woke up, I called everyone I knew because it was the coolest thing I could ever get to do in my career.”

Simpson Fever version 5.0

June 28, 2009
by

It seems like version 5.0 came out of nowhere, believe me it’s a suprise for me too. I just wasn’t feeling the v.4 design and this one seems a little more appropriate. You may notice a lot of changes, and over the next few days pages will be edited, and new pages will be added. The site looks a bit messy right now but it’ll nice and neat in about a week or so. So tell your friends that SF has changed once again and hopefully this will be the last change for a long time. What do you think of the new design? Vote in the poll below!
