The Simpsons Guaranteed 2 More Years on air!

the-simpsons-season-221                                                                         Fox has renewed the Simpsons until season 22 which makes America’s favorite family the longest running series in TV history! With an extra 44 episodes under their belt, the total will be 493 episodes until Fox orders more seasons in the future. Because of this two season renewal, the Simpsons will now hold the record for longest running television show in history.

The previous record holder was ‘Gunsmoke’ and it ran for 20 years. “Law and Order” (currently airing season 19) is right behind the Simpsons but because of this renewal, the Simpsons has nothing to worry about. Twentieth Century Fox closed this deal with Gracie Films founder, James L. Brooks on February 25th. Now the question is, will the Simpsons go higher than 22 seasons?

Thats great, 2 more years to laugh along with the simpsons. Hopefully this years episode will get better as so far the ratings have been poor.

I reckon by the end of Season 21 the rating will be about 4.50m – 5.50m. I don’t think it will get better, nethertheless at least it will remain on television for longer
